Exolaunch Secures Contract for Canadian CubeSat Deployment

Exolaunch, a global leader in small satellite deployment, has been selected to deploy CubeSats under Canada’s CUBICS (CubeSat and University-Based Innovation) initiative. The agreement covers the launch of nine 3U CubeSats designed by Canadian universities, with potential for additional missions until mid-2028. These satellites will be deployed via a rideshare mission no earlier than mid-2026, with integration taking place at the Canadian Space Agency’s (CSA) facilities in Quebec.

Through this partnership, Exolaunch will provide its advanced mission integration, testing, and satellite deployment services. The satellites will be launched using EXOpod Nova, Exolaunch’s next-generation CubeSat separation system. Known for its enhanced flexibility, scalability, and reliability, the EXOpod Nova ensures high-performance missions in an increasingly competitive space industry.

Enhancing Canada’s Space Research Capabilities

The CUBICS initiative is part of CSA’s broader efforts to support space research and innovation in Canada. The selected CubeSats, developed by nine Canadian universities, will conduct groundbreaking research in areas such as Earth observation, space weather monitoring, and communications technology.

CSA will host technical meetings in the coming months, where Exolaunch will collaborate with university teams, review student presentations, and gather mission requirements to optimize the integration and deployment process. This initiative provides students with hands-on experience in spaceflight operations, preparing the next generation of aerospace engineers and scientists.

Exolaunch’s Commitment to Accessible Space Missions

Robert W. Sproles, CEO of Exolaunch, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “We are thrilled to expand Exolaunch’s global presence into Canada by working with one of the country’s most distinguished government agencies,” he stated. “CSA’s CUBICS program is an incredible initiative that not only encourages CubeSat innovation but also empowers ambitious students to gain real-world spaceflight experience. At Exolaunch, we are deeply committed to making space more accessible, and we are honored to provide our flight-proven EXOpod Nova deployers to ensure these CubeSats reach orbit safely and successfully. We look forward to supporting CSA and the brilliant teams behind these projects.”
