Claude, the AI assistant developed by Anthropic, has just introduced a new feature called Integrations. This update allows users to connect their favorite apps and tools directly to Claude. In addition, Claude’s Advanced Research feature now supports deeper web searches and can access data from connected apps like Google Workspace. These updates were announced today, expanding Claude’s reach and making it even more helpful for users across the globe.
Claude Gets Smarter with App Integrations
Anthropic first launched the Model Context Protocol (MCP) in November. This open standard lets AI tools connect with external apps and data. Until now, MCP only worked with Claude Desktop through local servers. But that has changed.
With the new Integrations feature, Claude can now connect to MCP servers across the web and desktop apps. This allows the assistant to understand more about your work, from project details to task statuses. In short, Claude becomes a better teammate.
Popular Apps Already Supported
At launch, users can choose from 10 ready-made integrations. These include:
- Atlassian Jira and Confluence
- Zapier
- Cloudflare
- Intercom
- Asana
- Square
- Sentry
- PayPal
- Linear
- Plaid
Even more are on the way. Stripe and GitLab are expected to join the list soon.
Each of these connections allows Claude to perform new tasks. For instance, Claude can work with Jira and Confluence to help plan and manage new projects. It can also summarize pages or create new ones with just a few prompts.
Zapier’s integration is especially powerful. It connects Claude to thousands of other apps using pre-set workflows. With Zapier, Claude can gather sales data, send emails, or prepare meeting briefs—all in one conversation.
Developers Welcome Too
Anthropic is also opening the door for developers. Anyone can build their own integration using simple tools. In fact, Claude’s team says you can get started in under 30 minutes. Tools like Cloudflare can handle the tough parts like login security and data delivery.
Intercom Integration: Managing Feedback Made Easy
One standout use case is with Intercom, the customer service tool. Claude can now read conversation history, look at user feedback, and take smart actions based on what it finds.
For example, Intercom’s AI agent “Fin” can file bug reports in Linear when users report a problem. Claude can then analyze those bugs and help fix them, all in a single thread. This streamlines support and makes life easier for teams handling customer requests.
Claude’s Research Tool Gets a Boost
Claude’s Research tool was already popular, but now it’s even better. The tool helps users gather data from many sources and prepares detailed reports. The new update allows Claude to break big questions into smaller parts, search deeply, and return a full report—sometimes in as little as five minutes.
But more complex questions might take up to 45 minutes. That’s still faster than hours of manual research.
Deeper Data Access
Claude’s Research feature first launched with access to web search and Google Workspace. Now, it can also pull data from any app connected through Integrations. This gives users a 360-degree view of their projects, emails, notes, and other tools—all without switching tabs.
Each report includes clear citations. Users can check where Claude got its facts, which adds to its trustworthiness.
Available Plans and Global Rollout
Integrations and the new Research tool are now in beta for users on the Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. They will soon be rolled out to Pro users as well.
Also, web search is now available worldwide to all paid users of Claude.ai. This move gives users across the globe access to timely and accurate information through Claude.
Focus on Security and Privacy
Anthropic says it takes user privacy seriously. When you connect apps to Claude, the data is only used to improve the assistant’s answers. You can disconnect anytime. The company has also released a detailed guide on how it protects your data. You can read more about that on their official Help Center.
For developers and companies, Anthropic provides secure ways to host MCP servers. These setups support built-in security tools like OAuth and encrypted data handling.
What This Means for Users
Claude is now more than just a chatbot. It’s becoming a true digital assistant that can work with your favorite apps, gather insights, and even take action. Whether you’re managing a team, handling support tickets, or preparing a report, Claude is ready to help.
With the addition of Integrations and global web search, Claude is stepping into the role of a productivity powerhouse.
