Apple has officially expanded its Tap to Pay on iPhone feature to nine additional European countries, enhancing the way businesses accept contactless payments. Merchants in Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland can now securely receive payments using just their iPhone—eliminating the need for extra hardware or card terminals.
Seamless and Secure Contactless Payments
The Tap to Pay on iPhone feature enables merchants to accept contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets through a partner-enabled iOS app. This allows businesses of all sizes to process transactions quickly and securely using only an iPhone Xs or later running the latest iOS version.
Customers simply hold their contactless card, iPhone, Apple Watch, or supported digital wallet near the merchant’s iPhone to complete a payment via NFC technology.
